Linchpin

Built for Nepal

Made for the way Nepal trades. Not a foreign package with a few settings changed.

The calendar, the taxes, the units and the money in Linchpin are the ones your counter already uses. Nothing has to be translated in someone’s head between the paper and the screen.

What that means, one by one

Most of this is in Linchpin today. The two marked coming soon arrive with collections and accounts.

  • Bikram Sambat dates

    २०८३/०६/२९

Every document shows the BS date beside the English one.

  • The Nepali fiscal year

    GRN-2083/84-0012

Documents are numbered by fiscal year, Shrawan to Asar, starting again at 1 each year.

  • Lakh and crore

    NPR 19,20,000

Amounts are grouped the way your books are, with totals rounded to the rupee and every line exact to the paisa.

  • Amounts in words

    Five thousand … only

Every bill total is written out in words, the way it is printed on paper.

  • Excise and any tax you add

    Excise 5%

As a percentage, rupees per unit or rupees on the line, with rates by date, so a budget change does not rewrite old bills.

  • VAT always last

VAT 13% on value + excise

VAT is worked out once for the whole bill, after every other tax. VAT-exempt goods are kept apart.

  • Cartons in, pieces out

    1 ctn = 30 pcs

Buy by the bundle, case or carton and sell by the piece, each product with its own units.

  • MRP checked

    MRP 20 · sells at 19.19

Your selling rate with VAT is checked against the printed MRP before a bill is filed.

  • Fonepay and wallet QR codes

    Fonepay QR

Each vendor’s payment QR codes are kept with their bank accounts, ready to scan from the screen.

  • Post-dated cheques Coming soon

    PDC · 2083/07/05

Cheques wait for their date, go to the bank and clear or bounce, and a bounce re-opens the bill.

  • The IRD’s sales and purchase books Coming soon

    Sales book · 2083/84

The VAT register in the order the IRD asks for, credit notes as negatives in the same run.
